Massachusetts Discount Rate Program

We're there when you need us, offering a special discounted energy rate to Massachusetts customers in need.

To be eligible for our Discount Rate, you need to be a residential customer, who receives one of the benefits listed below, with a household income that meets eligibility requirements and your utility bill is in your name.

The discount is 42% for electric accounts and 25% for gas accounts.

Eligible Programs

You may be eligible for our Discount Rate if you currently receive one or more of the following benefits.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP/Fuel Assistance) *Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/Food Stamps) *
State Supplemental Program (SSP) for Qualified Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applicants*Veterans Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC) Surviving Parent or Spouse *
MassHealth – Basic or Standard*School Breakfast/Lunch Program * (only in towns without free or reduced lunch)
Emergency Assistance for the Elderly, Disabled & Children (EAEDC) *Veterans Non-Service Disability Pension *
Public or Subsidized Housing *MA Health Connector Plan Types 1, 2 or 3A *
Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC) *Health Safety Net Plan – Primary or Secondary (Not Partial) *
Head Start *Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutritional Program*
Veterans’ Service Benefits (Chapter 115) *

An eligibility letter is required for programs marked with an asterisk (*). Please enclose a copy with your application.
